July, November and December in October – and a pregnant belly

Some pictures I still wanted to share with you. I replaced my usual wall of text with a wall of images this time.

Here are two simple tags I made to accompany a voucher.

Daqadoodles140629zo122140 Daqadoodles140628za16113510

Both Chocolate Baroque stamps, tag die – can’t remember. Text stamp (thank you) – from a clear stamp sheet at Kruidvat.

A picture of me and my daughter putting papers through the machine (as my son calls it), 4 days before my third child was born.

And a picture of me and my huge belly (ofcourse the camera angle also enlarges it more) – taken half an hour later. And a good look at the dated kitchen of the previous owners – we’ve been without a dishwasher since we moved in, oh how I’ll love it when we manage to install one, even a second hand temporary dishwasher will do untill we rebuild the kitchen. First world problems, eh.

Oh and in my new kitchen I want many big drawers instead of only unconvenient cupboards!

Then, to end with another card, we go back to december 2013, as that is when I made this card:

Daqadoodles131208zo231558 Daqadoodles131208zo231650

Made with (IIRC): Embossing folder from Provocraft and Steampunk Alphabet stamp from Vivalasvegastamps

And this card, from november:

Made with dies: cogs from… I forgot… they match with the Chronologies series, Urban stamps. The drill, nails, bulb is all from a stampset from DeStempelwinkel, the man is a Marianne DEsign die, and the sentiment die is either Marianne design or Joy crafts. (It means congratulations). Oh and I also used a tools embossing folder, forgot where that one came from.

Want to know specifics about a card, or which materials / tools I used, ask away! I can look it up, no problem, but not tonight! Tonight it’s just guess work ;).

Goodnight all!

Waiting for a new arrival

This is a card I made for a friend who is pregnant with her 2nd child.

The mystery of new life

The mystery of new life

About the card

I am quite pleased with the card. They don’t know (yet) if it’s going to be another boy or a girl (they allready have a son), so I wanted to make the card neutral. Not too girly. Ofcourse it is girly though, as I mainly adressed it to my friend, the pregnant one ;). On the left side of the card I used blue as background, on the left it’s pink. In the middle it’s yellow, where the sun is heating the birdhouse.

The branch on the right has berries, food for growing. It was made of two layers of the same diecut (brown and green), where I trimmed the 2nd layer at the stem-end, to make it more spring like and give it even more depth. I also added distress embossing powder and used a perlen pen (kiwi). There are more suns behind the embossed flowers and branch to make the card more bright and not completely like a scenery. The grass just fits the season (spring). I had the backgroundpaper cut out allready before I maded the card, I quite likted the bees and the flowers, like “birds and the bees” – hence I also wanted a bird on the card.

The silhouette lady is made of a wallpaper sample – I should go to hardware stores soon again, as I liked the textures of the wallpapers, I should use them more often! The lady reminded me of my friend, and I positioned her thus that she is looking athe birdnest. The bird on the branch announcing the news (or my congratulations), and the birdnest symbolizing the womb in which the foetus grows. The baby can’t be seen yet, but it is growing. I hope she likes the card!

I’m back!

Hi all!

I apologize for having “vanished” without a clear explanation. There are various reasons, mostly happy ones!

I am pregnant! :D:D
The first couple of weeks I was very very tired, I began to be that tired in the week(s) where I was finishing the love me 2 challenges from French Kissed. Then I didn’t start new challenges, as I went to bed about half an hour after Tobias went to bed, so that didn’t leave much time to do anything. And my poor boyfriend had to work extra hard: do most of the cooking, shopping, laundry… I was just too tired. Other pregnancy related issues I had where lots of muscle pains when walking, and I did want to walk to train a bit for Norway. I regularly went walking with Tobias in the stroller for 1-3 hours, but the muscules sometimes hurt, sharp unannounced pains. Not like muscle pain from sporting. Also my back hurt lots, I even slept on the couch 2 nights because it is harder then our bed and I preferred that at that point! I am not sure if the pains were related to the changes in my body the first trimester (they were definetaly related to the pregnancy), but now I have them .. well, I don’t think I had them anymore for a few weeks. Could also be that I watch the way I lift Tobias much more carefully, and that I let my boyfriend carry most stuff or catch Tobias if he’s running around. My body posture, the way I bend and lift things isn’t good, I know that, but it is hard to change things like that!

About 1 1/2 months ago I started feeling less tired, I felt my energy returning. That was around my 16th week of pregnancy I think, around 16th of April. Then I had some catching up to do regarding the house – cleaning, sorting out my (pregnancy-)clothes etc. I didn’t feel like crafting, probably because I am allready busy with creation 24hrs a day now, haha!

Life was beginning to be a bit more organized, so it was time for work to become busy. And our vacation was coming up: Norway! on Saturday the 12th of May we departed, with the car through Germany, stayed in a hotel in Kiel for one night, then board the boat to Oslo around noon and arrive the following morning (Monday) at 10:00 in Oslo. We didn’t have much time there as we had a 300+ km trip waiting to Skeikampen where we stayed 3 nights. Next destination was Kaupanger, for 7 nights, and last place was Vradal, 4 nights. Then back to Oslo and board the boat and disembark the following day in Kiel, and arrive home late in the evening on Tuesday 29th of May.

Quite rested and full of energy from the holidays, and with our annual holidaypay finally on our accounts, we went to Ikea to get our TV/Wall storage unit. We spent around 3 days setting it up – it’s quite a challenge doing that with a little 1 year old wanting to “help”, so we mostly had to wait till the evening to get going. When that was built, we couldn’t possibly put place our old tv in it. It is a very old one, and the colours were a bit off. Also, if wouldn’t fit because it is too deep. So we bought a new TV! We have been saving up for it for about 2 years, as we knew we wanted a new one but not before we had a proper place to put it (media furniture). With that purchase, we’re out of cash again but we really enjoy the room now!

As you can see, it’s still not quite finished (the storage unit and the room). It still needs a carpet, some (self made?) artwork above the couch, and we want to put some flashy, colourfull wallpaper on the chimney. Also on the chimney we want to add one or 2 shelves which wil contain lots of plants, so the outside will be brought in a bit. Ofcourse, it will hide the wallpaper a bit, but I think it could match beautifully with the right wallpaper. Any suggestions? (I love the Eijffinger’s colourful collections!)

And then we still have to do lots of the woodwork of the separation unit, it has to be painted a different colour, all tools sorted and stored properly (somewhere else, like at my parents-in law for instance, haha!), doors need to be put in front of the separation unit – For the upper bit the doors have to be made. That was a hollow section which we opened up for storage. So many items aren’t put in a good place, it’s just placed where there was room at the time. And we also still have to do the entrance + staircase directly behind that.

I’m 21 weeks pregnant now, due date is 20th of October, and feeling good. I even feel like crafting again! I am not sure about the reason – could it be that the house is a bit more organized with the new storage unit? Did I rest that much from holiday? Is it because of the phase of the pregnancy I’m in? Or because it is close to summer? Or did building the Ikea unit trigger my creativiness again? (I like putting those things together, a bit like Lego, I like that too). I haven’t quite started crafting yet, as I still need to organize the other room first – there is still lots of stuff lying in places it where I don’t want it to be, but it’s out of the way from Tobias. I expect, once this room (where my computer is) looks organized (for the first time), I’ll mess it up right away by getting my crafting supplies out :).

To see some good crafting, check out my sister’s latest big project: The Raw Wool project.

She’s a great felter and tries out new techniques and materials regularly, and this project looks great! Go and have a look 🙂

Hi all,
I know it seems like I vanished from the earth, but that isn’t the case.
In my “about” you can read when I started crafting – it was after my son was born, after the pregnancy. I wanted to continue to create things. Maybe that is the reason why I haven’t felt like creating paper things – I’m again busy creating a huge mighty wonderfull magic something – a human being. Yes, I’m pregnant again. Currently 15 weeks. The first 12 weeks I was just very very tired, even thinking of getting stuff out to craft made me tired. And the scent of the ink put me off as well, it just smelled so chemical I didn’t want to open the inkpads!
My energy is returning, though still not the same as before the pregnancy (duh, my body is working 24/7 on this project)… and there’s still so much to do in the house. We finished renovating most big things, now all that is left is a lot of woodwork and the stairsarea (from our frontdoor up to our living floor). But all rooms can be used now, so they are used and I’m a bit done renovating atm. The paint on the built-in room divider cupboards with sliding doors looks awfull – holes, sanded slightly allready, paint damage.. but I can’t be arsed to finish that now. I just want to rearrange the cupboards and give stuff a place, finally. For about 2 years we’ve been renovating (it goes slow if you have little time) and things were just put in places where they fitted. I would love to have it organized, but I have a lot of stuff and we still need to purchase a new and bigger tv-book-media-storage unit thing.

There are some other projects which I am starting to get more and more enthousiastic about of starting – I just need to find the time! For instance, 2 little kid’s chairs, I want to paint one blue and one green, and maybe decoupage some wallpaper or other paper with a fun pattern on it. I think that will be a summerproject.
I still owe you also a nice post about the gifts I received from the FrenchKissedPostcard challenge and all the French Kisses (postcards) I received! They look so much better and have such a different… air… then the digital scans. I wouldn’t have thought that.

Oh and instead of the tiredness I now have the pregnancy-amnesia. Last week I made double plans for the days. Luckily it all worked out fine.

Anyway, I hope to be back again more often from June on!
